MARATHON FUN RUN 2024

AVPL Marathon 2024 - Event Highlights

On 25th August 2024, the AVPL Marathon Fun Run took place at the beautiful GKVK campus in Bengaluru, beginning bright and early at 6 a.m. The event saw a fantastic turnout, with over 500 passionate runners eager to take on the challenge.

This annual celebration of fitness and community featured three categories: 10K, 5K, and 3K, drawing participants from all walks of life, from experienced athletes to enthusiastic newcomers. The lush, green surroundings of GKVK provided a perfect setting, with drone cameras capturing the event’s vibrant spirit from above and professional photographers capturing every memorable moment.

We were honored to welcome Ravi S IPS, IG Karnataka Police, as our esteemed Chief Guest. As an avid runner who has participated in numerous marathons, he joined us at the entrance to encourage and motivate all participants, sharing his passion for running and fitness.

The 5K and 10K categories featured RFID timing chips embedded in the participants’ bibs, ensuring accurate and real-time tracking of their runs. Each participant received their individual race timing and performance details via SMS shortly after the event.

Runners were treated to a well-organized experience with excellent facilities, including a delicious breakfast to recharge after their races. The atmosphere was filled with energy, excitement, and camaraderie, creating an unforgettable morning for everyone involved. Your dedication and spirit were truly the heartbeat of this event’s success!

Women Winners for the 5K Event:

  1. Bowmida Hanif - Finished with a gun time of 35:05 and a net time of 35:02, securing the 1st place in the female category.

  2. Kartika Chowdhry - Completed the race with a gun time of 36:13 and a net time of 36:12, achieving the 2nd place in the female category.

  3. Anjali S Baragi - Finished with a gun time of 38:36 and a net time of 38:35, placing 3rd in the female category.

 

 

Women Winners for the 10K Event

  1. Pravati Nayak - Completed the 10K with a gun time of 1:23:47, securing the 1st place in the female category.

  2. Sushma Shree - Achieved a gun time of 1:30:04, earning the 2nd place in the female category.

  3. Rathna Kumari G - Finished with a gun time of 1:41:31, placing 3rd in the female category.

 

 

Men Winners for the 5K Event (Below 45 Category)

  1. Jai Pranesh - Finished with a gun time of 23:48 and a net time of 23:43, securing the 1st place in the male category.

  2. Yashavantha BK - Completed the race with a gun time of 25:36 and a net time of 25:34, achieving the 2nd place in the male category.

  3. Yashavantha K - Finished with a gun time of 26:00 and a net time of 25:56, placing 3rd in the male category.

 

Men Winners for the 5K Event (Above 45 Category)

  1. Harish Naik - Completed the race with a gun time of 37:54 and a net time of 37:52, securing the 1st place in the above 45 male category.

  2. Yatish Babu - Achieved a gun time of 44:52 and a net time of 44:48, earning the 2nd place in the above 45 male category.

  3. Gopal C - Finished with a gun time of 46:23 and a net time of 46:13, placing 3rd in the above 45 male category.

 

Men Winners for the 10K Event (Below 45 Category)

  1. Chetan Kumar - Finished with a gun time of 49:54 and a net time of 49:53, securing the 1st place in the below 45 male category.

  2. Nitin Joshi - Completed the race with a gun time of 59:17 and a net time of 59:16, achieving the 2nd place in the below 45 male category.

  3. Tippeswami - Finished with a gun time of 59:37 and a net time of 59:35, placing 3rd in the below 45 male category.

 

Men Winners for the 10K Event (Above 45 Category)

  1. Supriyo Batabyal - Completed the race with a gun time of 1:17:05 and a net time of 1:17:02, securing the 1st place in the above 45 male category.

  2. Babu S - Achieved a gun time of 1:17:39 and a net time of 1:17:36, earning the 2nd place in the above 45 male category.

  3. Kumar VN - Finished with a gun time of 1:23:20 and a net time of 1:23:20, placing 3rd in the above 45 male category.
